SVD Ghana Project Office’s Health Outreach at Gushiegu Witch Camp

The SVD Ghana Project and Development Office (SVD-GHA PDO) recently organized a comprehensive health outreach program at the Gushiegu Witch Camp in the Northern Region of Ghana. This humanitarian initiative was made possible through the generous sponsorship of the Muenster Diocese, Germany.

The outreach aimed at improving the health and well-being of vulnerable women and children residing in the camp, many of whom face social exclusion and limited access to healthcare services. A dedicated team of medical professionals, volunteers, and SVD members provided free medical consultations, health education, medication, and laboratory screening for various conditions such as malaria, hypertension, diabetes, and other common ailments.

In addition to healthcare delivery, the outreach also focused on promoting hygiene and preventive health practices through health talks and demonstrations. Essential items such as sanitary pads, mosquito nets, and nutritional supplements were distributed to support the beneficiaries’ ongoing health needs.

This initiative forms part of the SVD’s broader mission to uphold human dignity through compassionate service, empowerment, and evangelization. By addressing both the spiritual and physical needs of marginalized groups, the SVD Ghana Project Office continues to embody the congregation’s commitment to the integral development of all people, especially the poor and vulnerable.

The SVD Ghana Project Office extends heartfelt appreciation to the Muenster Diocese of Germany for their unwavering support and solidarity, which made this life-transforming outreach possible.
